Athens. Hydra. June 2020.
A struggling journalist is found dead in the swimming pool of a penthouse in Kolonaki, in the apartment of her ex-husband, a distinguished painter, who remains missing. She has a tattoo of a huge seahorse on her chest. The media and public opinion are upset, with the possible scenarios of the murder remaining open until the end.
The tangle of this case, which unfolds between Hydra and Athens, involves police officer Haris Kokkinos and his team in a case that brings them face to face with phenomena of domestic violence, art circles, the limits of creation and the closed mouths of the small society that can be located on an island or in the heart of a big city.
This book is the second part of the "Trilogy of the Deep", of a malleable universe, of a deep that swallows everything except our stories, true in their lies and false in their truth, thinking that we have understood how the game is played and realizing each time that it was not only that, that in the seahorse's nest none of us are innocent.
This would have been a good premise for a crime novel, if I hadn't received an email from the victim the day before his murder and if I hadn't known that seahorses swim against the current until their hearts break.
