The stone house built on a slope. In front of it was an orange grove, and from the back yard, the forest with the sycamores could be seen. There, the grandfather made up his stories. There, the fire broke out and burned everything.

But, grandfather knew how to make his dreams come true… He taught me, his grandson, the way. And I give it to you. I have the same name with grandfather. The same dreams with you… I guess.

I had believed him.

With my father and mother, we returned to the other place. I was growing up, learning everything that life offers to a growing child.

But beyond and behind the lessons of everyday life, there was also what I knew from the stories that my grandfather had once sent me in large yellow envelopes. I read them now, over and over again. Each one about a plant, tree or flower; each one about an idea, an emotion, an ideal.

We often say that “life goes on.” But we don’t say it correctly – “we go on with life,” that’s what we should say and remember.

Manos Kontoleon wrote this book to prove this sentence. And he sees it as an occasion for a discussion, as an occasion to share this thought of his with more people. And then he hopes that his own story might become a life position for one of us. For one of his readers.

And he in turn... wrote his own.

So, somehow, the idea to write this story began, which talks about how one deserves to see the relationship between one's present and yesterday, what it means to live sometimes in nature and sometimes in a city, what it means to remember and what to create. That culture is not only inherited, but also conquered.

Within the text, descriptions of natural disasters, such as a great fire, coexist with narratives of ancient myths of the creation of elements of Nature, while at the same time human relationships evolve, shaping the very future of man.

A book with true events, but also myths about places we love, a narrative for those who hear the same name as us, who have the same dream.
