Sofia lost her teddy bear on the beach. No one saw it except the Sea...
As we leaf through the book, we follow the adventures of the little bear in the water, in the sea, as he tries in his own way to discover Sofia and return her favorite toy. And time passes.
Of particular interest is the illustration of the fairy tale: Through an original action entitled Rijksstudio, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam provided access to 125,000 images from its collection to be used and edited freely by everyone.
Tom Percival, fascinated by the idea of designing something new by combining his own illustration with elements from classic paintings, was inspired by the world of this book, using works by Willem Roelofs, Aelbert Cuyp, Vincent van Gogh, Maurits van der Valk and Hendrik Willem Mesdag. A warm, tender story that tells us that nothing is truly lost if you hold it deep in your heart. A fascinating book with a special and innovative collage technique, combining paintings from the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
