It's hard to be a cat! Especially when you're dealing with people, who are inherently unstable and irrational. Writer Richard Gold, however, is a troubled being who, after the death of his wife, has lost all interest in life. He spends his days on the couch drinking and watching some guys on TV throw darts at round targets, and sometimes he stands up on a chair, playing with a rope hanging from the ceiling.
One day, when Richard tries, once again, to end his life, he unexpectedly meets Frankie and his life begins to change. For some mysterious reason, Frankie chooses Richard to be his man; possibly because he will provide him with a soft bed, plenty of cat food and a huge television. Or is their friendship born from the need for both of them to have a real friend?
