Mediterranean Landscape, 1953 by Pablo Picasso

A sample of Picasso's cubist style, already formed in 1952, where the artist depicts a landscape, something rare in Spanish art.

The landscape resembles a collage, a result of synthetic cubism, in which the composition is obtained by pasting together pieces of paper or wallpaper. This style was developed with Georges Braque and analyzed objects based on their shape.
